I trust you are enjoying your summer!
I wanted to let you know what has been happening at Bishop McLaughlin the last few weeks. As students are taking time off, the building is still very much alive with activity. BMCHS has hosted many dance recitals as the local dance studios take advantage of our wonderful EDPAC facility. This week we are offering physicals required for participation in athletics and hosting Alive in You, a national Catholic Youth Conference and Summer Service Camp.
In July we will be hosting the Word of Life Camp as well as welcoming the Pasco Sheriff’s Office for their quarterly awards ceremony. Students in the AP Chemistry class will be on campus to get a jump start on their labs and the used uniform sale will take place on July 15.
In the background of all these activities, our work continues as we plan for the 2014 – 2015 school year. We are in the process of finalizing schedules and will make them available to you in the next week or so. We are in contact with MBS Direct, our online bookstore accessible through our website, preparing the new text offerings for the upcoming year. The bookstore will “open” on July 7th with a week of free shipping (for orders over $99) from July 14th through July 20. We are meeting with the Friends of the Arts Committee to discuss this year’s events and the Athletics Department is planning parent informational meetings. We are working on finalizing the school calendar and which will be updated on the website. As you can see there is a lot going on!
The next month will go quickly and before we know it our school year will begin! You will be hearing from us again as new information develops. In the meantime, please enjoy your summer and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
